Fact: Rehearse your lines well... Stage-fright and stutters happens everywhere.
Case: I was queuing up at SIR building to apply for extension (word:extend) my exit permit for my passport at the entry. It was my turn and I am suppose to tell the lady my purpose (which is extension of exit permit). I said, 'I would like to.....' Stunned for words (i was suppose to say extend but that word actually slipped my mind for the oddest reason...) Continued with,'ELONGATE my exit permit...' I was horrified at the sort of vocab i used to substitute (and the underlyin meaning of what my sentence could imply.... that lady gave me a bewildered look (at least it wasn't bewitched nor bothered)..... Lady in her most singlish accent she can get, 'u meeen extend ar.... ok lor...' Phew.....
